Cascade School of Music is proud to announce 14 year old voice student, Kate Britton, has been awarded the Fortissimo Award for April, 2018. Kate is a student of Marianne Thomas and the daughter of.
The Fortissimo Award recognizes students in year three and above of private instruction who exhibit talent, effort and achievement. These are Cascade School of Music’s best students. The students who receive this award have been nominated by their teachers as showing both great promise as musicians along with great perseverance and commitment to their craft.
Kate is a private student of Marianne Thomas and has been a student at the Cascade School of Music since 2012.
Maria Britton says, “Kate is a budding filmmaker and loves writing and shooting in her spare time. She hopes to study film in college. She’s also an animal lover and participates in 4-H. She hopes to be able to write and perform her own music and uses music as a way to express herself and relieve stress. She loves piano and singing, but hopes to take up guitar in the future.”
Marianne Thomas states, “Kate is always prepared for her lesson and always early! She soaks in everything I teach and every week makes progress. She is also innately musical and exhibits natural artistry. Kate is also positive, respectful, and fun to be with.”
Along with an award certificate, Kate received a $100 scholarship toward her private lessons, and a gift from award sponsor Cuppa Yo and Cascade Indoor Sports. Kate and subsequent monthly Fortissimo Award winners will compete head to head for a $1000 scholarship to continue their music studies at Cascade School of Music during Crescendo Bendo to be held at the Tower Theatre on June 2, 2018.
