|Bass Student Carson Perl Wins February Fortissimo Award|

Cascade School of Music is proud to announce 16
year old bass student, Carson Perl, has been awarded the Fortissimo Award for
February, 2017. Carson is a student of
Eddy Robinson and the son of Fred and Sandy Perl of Bend.
The Fortissimo Award recognizes students in year three and above
of private instruction who exhibit talent, effort and achievement. These are
Cascade School of Music’s best students.
The students who receive this award have been nominated by their
teachers as showing both great promise as musicians along with great
perseverance and commitment to their craft.
has participated in the All-State Orchestra 2015, 2016 and was the principal
bassist in 2017, All-Northwest Orchestra principal bassist 2017, State Solo
Competition where he placed 4th in 2015 and 6th in 2016,
District Honor Orchestra 2015 and was the principal bassist in 2016, District
Honor Band 2017, Central Oregon Youth Orchestra 2014, 2015 (played at Carnegie
Hall) and 2016, Central Oregon Symphony under the direction of Michael Gesme
2017. In addition to bass, Carson also
studies piano and has achieved level 10 in Syllabus.
instructor, Eddy Robinson says, “Carson is an extremely motivated and
hard-working student. He consistently pushes himself to improve and grow and
never backs down from a challenge. One
of my favorite memories with Carson was watching him perform as a freshman at
the State Solo Competition in 2015, and then learn that he placed 4th.”

Along with an award certificate, Carson received a $100 scholarship
toward his private lessons, and a gift from award sponsor Pizza Mondo. Carson and subsequent monthly Fortissimo
Award winners will compete head to head for a
$1000 scholarship to continue their music studies at Cascade School of Music
during Crescendo Bendo to be held at the Tower Theatre on June 10, 2017.
